MorkEye v2.2 freeze
Hi there.

Got a problem as mentioned in the header. Have had the program running for almost a month now and suddenly it started freezing up on me. Starts ok, loads words and binds as it is supposed to but approx. 2 minutes into monitoring the whole thing just "locks up".

Any ideas what that could be?

RE: MorkEye v2.2 freeze
I'm guessing that since this is the first report of this happening with V2.2 it could either be due to a recent Microsoft update which means more people will report this or that something else has changed on your PC that is causing this (ie.. an AV update etc...)

Unless you can provide any error messages or other operating feedback then there is little else I can do except wait to see if this is an isolated issue or common among several people.

I myself don't have any such issue running MORKEye on W2K3 with all the latest patches & updates.

RE: MorkEye v2.2 freeze
Thank you for the reply.

I have tried re-installing it (twice) to no avail and also gone back to the original badwords file as I did a lot of additions. My reasoning for doing this was that perhaps I had some words more than once, but that had no effect.

I then went ahead and installed it on a 2nd pc. After one minute or 2 exactly the same thing happened. After several restarts where I tried switching on and off various options and ticks on the server settings I finally made it work but only after unticking the binds.

I did not have time to look into it any further today - the pc is located in my office - but I will take an hour or so to investigate further tomorrow.

The PB settings on the server is now set to auto-update and I wonder if there is a clash of bindchecking here that makes Mork stall. I ticked the logging option on the 1st machine and I will see if there is anything there of interest and if so post it.

Again, thank you for your time.

I have noticed that morkeye is freezing but not straight away.

I cant give you the exact time but it will work fine for lets say a day or so, then all of a sudden the whole program will become unresponsive to the point that you can stop monitoring servers or shut down the program any other way than to kill the process itself.

I get this from time to time too. It seems that the program is still running and kicking people but the interface has frozen

Yep same here - only way to stop it /free it is to end process.
It's irregular though and doesn't seem triggered by anything in particular?

RE: MorkEye v2.2 freeze
Have you guys tried what I mentioned above?
Ie. untick the warn and kick options for scrips checking and you should be fine.

I found that whilst the program locked, the servers where not monitored at all.

As mentioned above, the only way to stop and restart in killing off the process and the ucon (quicker option) and starting again.

It is a shame. I can not explain it nor do I have any logs to help out with as MorkEye appear to have left no logs of the incident(s).
