Hope all is well. Have another question for you.
I had two of our members kicked for the following statements:

[7/11/2008 3:43:25 PM] yeah, but didnt you used to be in the dumb clan matomek?

[1/1/0001 12:00:00 AM] dude you dumb lololol

I received complaints about the language filter being a bit strict on these words so I cleaned up our banWords.txt file to remove what we thought did not warrant kicks, like poop, etc.

After this, we were still receiving kicks so I turned of Heuristic scanning and tested with the above two phrases and we were good to go. The only problem is I had an individual come on later who used the following term: [24.11.2008 21:56:12] alex : hopping bitch
Morkeye did not pick up the language with the heuristic turned off.

I went back and re-set it for the Heuristic to be turned on and tested with the initial two phrases and was immediately kicked:

[24.11.2008 22:21:34] (:TLB:)DevilDog : I used to be a member of that dumb clan
[24.11.2008 22:21:34] Attempted to kick (:TLB:)DevilDog for using foul and/or abusive language.
[24.11.2008 22:21:35] Player '(:TLB:)DevilDog' left the game.

I went back to check on our Hard Core server using the word dumb and was instantly kicked again:
[24.11.2008 22:55:11] (:TLB:)KashWak : im all ears
[24.11.2008 22:55:12] (:TLB:)DevilDog : woodcutter is dumb
[24.11.2008 22:55:12] Attempted to kick (:TLB:)DevilDog for using foul and/or abusive language.
[24.11.2008 22:55:13] Player '(:TLB:)DevilDog' left the game.

Any help, as always, would be greatly appreciated. If you want the logs, or the ban words.txt let me know and I will get them to you ASAP

Once you have taken the words out of the badwords add them to the dictionary. Also add other phrases to the dictionary:

dumb
dumbest
dumber

etc,etc,etc

Players may also get kicked for dumb. The use of a full stop, question mark, etc can also get you kicked but it would be impossible to cover for every single symbol or a cumulation of them all.

I check through the chat logs to see if somebody has tried to get around the swear filter and add those words to the banwords

Reviving an old post


The word puta is in the bad words. The word put is in the dictionary.

But, people get kicked for saying put<space>a EG: put a bullet in it

I have tried adding put<space>a to the dictionary but this does not work.

Any thoughts Jimbo?

I will look into it..
